One slab, two sports
A pickleball court and a basketball half court fit on the same 30-by-50 pad. The trick is in the lines, and in deciding which sport the court is really for.
Pick the lead sport
Most families play one sport more than the other. That one gets full-strength white lines. The other gets ghost lines, painted a few shades off the court color so they are there when you want them and quiet when you do not.
Pick the colors
The playing area, the out-of-bounds, and the kitchen can each be their own color. Two-tone is the classic look. Three-tone makes the non-volley zone obvious to new players.
Pick what goes on it
A net with posts set in sleeves so it comes out for basketball. A hoop on the baseline, adjustable or fixed. If you want fencing or lights later, we lay out the pad with them in mind.

Already have a court? A faded surface gets pressure washed, crack filled, recoated in acrylic color, and re-lined. That is a few days of work, not a demolition.
Three pours, one deck
The pool deck we see most often was poured in stages. A patio in the eighties, a walkway added when the pool went in, a slab by the shed someone did themselves. Three colors of gray, three sets of cracks, and by two in the afternoon none of it is walkable barefoot.
Rubber Stone goes over all of it at once. The seams disappear under one continuous surface, the cracks are filled and covered, and the color is whatever blend you pick from the chart. Two days later you have one deck, and it is cool and soft underfoot.
Vuba Stone is the same idea with a different material: crushed marble and pebble in a clear resin, troweled smooth. It reads as stone, not rubber, and it is permeable, which makes it the pick for driveways and anywhere water needs somewhere to go.
Cooler in July
Rubber does not bank heat the way a slab does. On a July afternoon that is the difference between walking to the pool and running.
Grip when wet
A textured, high-traction finish. Wet feet, wet dogs, wet kids, same footing.
Over what is there
Goes on top of cracked, pitted, or mismatched concrete. No demolition, no dumpster, no new pour.
Vuba Stone drains
Resin-bound stone is permeable. Rain goes through it into the ground instead of sheeting across the driveway.

Flake floors that clean with a hose
Epoxy flake chip is four layers on a properly ground slab. It hides oil, tire marks, and the stain from the water heater, and it makes the garage a room instead of a place you park.
- 1GrindDiamond-grind the slab so the coating bonds to concrete, not to whatever was on it.
- 2PrimeEpoxy primer, worked into the pores. Cracks and spalls get filled first.
- 3FlakeFull broadcast of vinyl chips to refusal. You pick the blend; there are dozens.
- 4SealScrape, vacuum, and a clear topcoat. Hot tires and dropped wrenches bounce off it.

The people behind NorCal Surfaces got their start about twenty years ago installing for Sport Court, and courts have been the core of the work ever since. Pickleball changed the shape of that business: most calls now are for a pickleball court, or for a basketball court that also needs to be one.
The overlays came later. Rubber Stone has been around since the late 1980s and has more than a hundred dealers across North America, and when the territory for Shasta County opened up, NorCal Surfaces took it. Vuba Stone and epoxy flake followed, because the same customer with a hot pool deck usually has a cracked driveway and a garage floor they are tired of looking at.
