Court resurfacing

Bring the court back instead of tearing it out

A court that has faded, cracked, or grown moss does not need a new pad. It needs the surface rebuilt on top of the one that is there. NorCal Surfaces resurfaces tennis, pickleball, and basketball courts for homes, HOAs, parks, and schools across Northern California, and converts tennis courts to pickleball.

What resurfacing involves

  • Pressure wash and strip loose coating
  • Crack repair with a flexible filler, and a crack-bridging membrane where the slab is moving
  • Leveling of birdbaths so water stops standing
  • Acrylic resurfacer, then two coats of sand-filled color in the layout you choose
  • New lines to regulation for each sport on the court

Tennis to pickleball

A single tennis court holds four pickleball courts, or two with comfortable run-off. We can convert the court outright, or stripe pickleball as a second color so tennis players keep their court. Portable or permanent nets, your call. HOAs and parks departments: this is the fastest way to add pickleball without new concrete.

How often a court needs it

An acrylic court in the North State sun is good for roughly five to eight years before the color chalks and the traction goes. Cracks show up sooner if the slab was never treated. Resurfacing on schedule is far cheaper than letting a slab fail.

Questions we get

Hairline cracks that are filled and coated stay covered for years. A structural crack that is still moving will telegraph through any coating eventually, which is why we use a crack-bridging membrane over those, and tell you up front if the slab is beyond a resurface.

Two to five days depending on the amount of crack work, plus a day or two of cure before play.

Yes. Multi-court jobs are a good fit for our crew, and we can stage the work so some courts stay open.
