Vuba Stone

Vuba Stone: real stone, over the slab you have, that rain goes through

Vuba Stone is crushed marble and natural pebble mixed with a clear UV-stable resin and troweled over your existing concrete or asphalt. It sets solid with air between the stones, so water drains through it instead of sheeting off. NorCal Surfaces installs it on driveways, patios, paths, and pool surrounds across Northern California, and we are the closest installer north of Sacramento.

Why resin-bound stone

  • Looks like stone, because it is: natural blends from near-white to charcoal
  • Permeable: roughly 20 gallons per square foot per minute drains straight through
  • Goes over sound concrete or asphalt with no demolition and no dumpster
  • UV-stable resin, so the color does not yellow in the North State sun
  • Firm and textured underfoot, comfortable barefoot around a pool
  • A 15 to 20-plus year surface with nothing to do but wash it

Where it fits best

Driveways are the number one Vuba Stone job: a cracked, stained slab becomes a stone driveway that never puddles. Patios and entry paths are next, especially where the concrete was poured in stages and the seams show. Around a pool it pairs with Rubber Stone: stone on the walkways, rubber where people run and fall.

How the job goes

We pressure wash, repair cracks, and prime. The stone and resin are mixed on site and hand troweled to a smooth, even depth. Most residential driveways are one to two days of work, and you can walk on it the next day and drive on it within a few.

Questions we get

Rubber Stone is soft, cool, and comes in bright colors. Vuba Stone is firm, looks like natural stone, and is permeable. Pool decks and play areas lean rubber. Driveways and anywhere water needs to go lean stone. Plenty of homes get both.

Yes, as long as the asphalt is sound. Crumbling asphalt gets repaired or replaced first.

No. It is bound to the slab underneath, so there is no soil for anything to root in. Leaves and dust wash off.
